Lemon balm
Lemon balm, also known as Melissa Officinalis, is a medicinal herb with its origins in the Mediterranean. It is more commonly known for its sedative, antispasmodic, antiviral and anti-inflamatory effects, but more importantly is found in herbal mixtures which reduce the amount of fatty acids and lipids in the blood stream. It was also shown to protect the liver during the intake of fat rich foods. In addition lemon balm contains strong antioxidants to help the body get rid of harmful free radicals.
Dandelion
The first evidence of dandelion root, also known as Taraxacum Officnalis, being used medicinally was recorded as early as the 10th century. It was used to treat liver and spleen ailments. The root is used as a hepatic stimulant while the leaves act as a diuretic and choleretic (lowering lipids in the blood stream). In Loozemor™ appetite we use the whole plant, roots and leaves, to reduce water retention and to reduce the amount of lipids and fatty acids stored in the body.
Hydroxycitric acid (HCA)
HCA is an active ingredient extracted from the rind of the Indian fruit Garcinia Cambogia. On a cellular level HCA inhibits certain enzymes responcible for the biosynthesis of fatty acids and cholesterol; this reduces body weight gain through normal metabolism mechanisms.
Guarana
Is a commonly used stimulant in various weight loss remedies and energy drinks.
Apple cider vinegar
Commonly used in weight loss product for its appetite modifying properties. It is rich in certain natural acids which gives the body a feeling of fullness when present in the stomach.
Orange bitter peel
Bitter orange peel (Citrus Aurantium) is used in herbal weight loss remedies for its sympathomimetic effects which have been ascribed to fat oxidation through an increase in thermogenesis and stimulated lipolysis.
